About the Star-Studded My Mirror Premiere by Jumoke Odetola

Jumoke Odetola, a prominent movie producer, has revealed the true motivations behind her new film “My Mirror.” Odetola stated that the film’s purpose is to expose men’s abuses created by society and other factors, as well as the negative consequences of these abuses. Jumoke, who gave this explanation at the movie premiere on Sunday in Lagos, stated that society teaches men that they are unable to express their feelings and pains.

“One of the abuses depicted in this film is the abuse inflicted on men, teaching men to suppress communication of their feelings, emotions and anger. Phrases like ‘Man-up jare’, ‘Why man go dey cry?’ and so on are common in a society like ours. These sometimes lead to depression, and at other times, the accumulation of anger and emotions that may also cause them to react inappropriately. These are some of the issues we addressed in this film, as well as the need for people to seek therapy.” She elaborated.

Seun Akindele, one of the film’s cast members, stated that viewers should expect moral lessons about family dynamics in the film. Seun also stated that the film teaches viewers about the expectations that come with having a marital status.

“Everyone who sees this film should take away some moral lessons that should not be overlooked in a family setting. It teaches people what to do or what to expect based on their marital status. Aside from that, there are a lot of lessons to be learned.” Seun stated.

Allwell Ademola, who also spoke, described Jumoke as a ‘spiritual writer’ whose stories are always sensitive. “Jumoke is a spiritual writer, and her stories always make sense, which is the type of film I enjoy appearing in. “My character in the film is hilarious. You can’t help but laugh.” Allwell stated.
