The ongoing AmuwoGames 2021 reached its third week with more surprises than expected from various teams.
Last weekend, the Festac Elephants added to their medal total with gold medals in snooker and Perception Technology’s table tennis.
The Extension Dolphins proved once again that they are true soccer masters by winning gold in the new 5 aside soccer game, just as they are going to defend their gold medal from the open soccer game two years ago.
Festac Bulls also made an impression by winning gold in the Mama Amuwo cycling championship. The GRA Rhinos have made it clear that they would not be pushed aside on the medals table. Festac Sharks, on the other hand, do not appear to be joking.
There will be many more medals up for grabs this weekend, with the swimming, 10km walkathon, and 100m dash all taking place on Saturday.
The 2021 AmuwoGames’ spectacular finale will take place this weekend, on Sunday, with a closing ceremony. The final soccer match between the Mile 2 Lions and the defending champions, the Extension Dolphins, will begin at 12 p.m. Following that, medals will be awarded to all athletes who won one or more of the four previous weeks’ tournaments.
Mojisola Alli-Macaulay, a House of Representatives member, ace actress Jumoke Odetola, renowned Faze, and many other celebrities are expected to attend the closing ceremony event.
This full-day sports event will conclude with a Gala Night Event to celebrate and thank all members of the local organizing committee, volunteers, media partners, and corporate sponsors for their contributions to the game festival’s success. This will commence at 6 p.m. at Amuwo Odofin’s Festival Hotel.
