The 2025 edition of AmuwoGames wrapped up in an exciting, colourful ceremony at Iman College, marking the end of a month filled with intense competition, community spirit, and standout performances from youth across Amuwo Odofin.
The Festac Bulls claimed the title of Overall Tournament Champions, finishing with 4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze medals. They were closely trailed by GRA Rhinos (3 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) and Mile 2 Hawks (3 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze), both of whom demonstrated exceptional competitiveness throughout the festival.
The closing ceremony, held between 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM, saw an impressive turnout of dignitaries and community leaders, including:
• Hon. Stella Osafile, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly (Amuwo Odofin 1)
• Oluwaseyi Adegoke-Adeyemo, Publisher, Inside Watch Africa
• Representatives of the event’s sponsors
• Miss Chinyere Okorie, representing the Lagos State Sports Commission
Guests participated in the presentation of medals and trophies to athletes who excelled across different sports.
This year’s festival was themed “Cancel Scam Culture,” a campaign message aimed at promoting integrity, discipline, and positive values among young people. The theme resonated strongly with athletes and spectators and added a deeper social impact to the competition.
Another highlight of the day was the football tournament prize presentation, with cash awards of ₦500,000, ₦300,000, and ₦200,000 handed to the top teams by the football sponsor, Lanre Shittu Motors.
With over 50,000 participants and spectators engaged across the month of November, AmuwoGames 2025 has reinforced its place as one of the most important grassroots sports festivals in Lagos, fostering talent discovery, community unity, and youth development.
The community now looks forward to an even bigger edition in 2027.
